“He is an authentic human on every level. He’s a collaborator, he’s a great communicator. He says what he means and means what he says. I sat on a board with him for a homeless charity and I watched him process information at these meetings to solve a particular issue and watched him listen and get input, it was a very diverse board, and he would zero in on what was important and offer ideas and suggestions. He’s a collaborator. He’s calm, he’s kind.

I think he’s a true servant leader to be honest , which we really need right now. Honolulu needs leadership. We need somebody who will inspire others to go beyond what they think that they’re capable of doing and I think that Rick is that guy.

He was a coach and coaches by definition are collaborators and communicators and expect excellence. He’s going to do that for Honolulu. He’s going to bring us all together. All for one and one for all. He will be the mayor for all the people. All of us will have access. It just won’t be special interests. It will be anyone who wants to talk to Rick will be able to talk to Rick. He said it and I believe him. I think he is the right person at the right time.

Rick Blangiardi will be the mayor for every resident in the City and County of Honolulu.”
